The Lonely Linuxer #26 – Rebooting


Hi everyone,


I just got back from the mental hospital not long ago after going three days without being able to sleep. It was a difficult experience. I could finally sleep there, but the room was very bare—just a bed and a small window. It wasn't easy, but I made it through.


After being discharged, I joined a local game development meetup. Talking with other developers and seeing what they're building gave me a fresh dose of motivation. My next goal is to find work in game development, and I'm planning to start looking for opportunities through IndieDB and other indie game communities.


I'm looking forward to getting back to coding, making games, and continuing the projects I've started. I just hope I'll have friendly teammates and colleagues this time around.


One step at a time. The system has rebooted.

The Lonely Linuxer Log #14 — Confession of an AI-Powered Penguin 🐧

 Hey everyone, it’s your friendly neighborhood Linuxer again. Okay… I’ve got a confession to make. Recently, I’ve been getting some help writing my blogs — from AI. Yup. The “lonely Linuxer” isn’t completely alone anymore. 😅 Before you imagine some robot typing while I sip coffee, don’t worry — it’s still me behind the keyboard. I just use AI as a writing buddy to turn my scattered ideas into actual words that make sense (most of the time). Honestly? It’s kinda like using apt install inspiration. I still control the terminal — I just get a few extra suggestions before I hit Enter. And oh yeah… 💙 Big news: I’ve switched to Kubuntu! Goodbye GNOME, hello KDE. It feels smooth, beautiful, and way more “me.” I’ve been customizing it nonstop — changing icons, tweaking panels, and pretending I’m hacking NASA every time I open Konsole. A Lonely Linuxer Log #17 – My Walking Hobby

This log is a bit different, but still very much part of my uptime. I want to share something that’s been helping me keep my system running stable: walking. I live in a crowded city — like a machine running too many background services — but it still has green parks and quiet paths, the equivalent of hidden TTYs where things feel calmer. I started doing daily “maintenance cycles,” walking about an hour and covering around 3km. But recently, I’ve upgraded. Now I can push 5km without throttling, and yesterday I even reached 8km — a surprising performance boost. And here’s the strange part: walking seems to help my insulin levels. My blood sugar came back normal — which feels like discovering that htop shows no runaway processes even though I consume too much sugary coffee and still smoke. (Yeah, I know, I’ll patch those habits eventually.) There’s even an incentive module installed: my dad pays me 5,000 rupiah per kilometer walked.
