The Lonely Linuxer v2 Log #2: The Comeback v2

The Lonely Linuxer v2 Log #2: The Comeback v2 Hi guys, I'm back. I've been treated again at a mental hospital for about 10 days, and now I'm back home and kicking again. I just uploaded a Brink stream on YouTube. It's about 52 minutes long, and I'm pretty happy to have something new uploaded. I'm also planning to stream again today, maybe. We'll see how I'm feeling. As for my games, I want to start updating them again once I'm more stable. For now, I'm going to take things slowly, rest, recharge, and focus on getting myself back on track. I might also make HeroBot available on Discord sometime in the future. I don't need to rush everything. For now, no heavy programming. Just small things like streaming, creating Shorts, blogging, and maybe doing a little promotion. One step at a time. I hope I'll be feeling more stable and productive again over the coming weeks. I want to get better, take care of myself, and eventually get back to making...

The Lonely Linuxer v2 Log #1: The Next Step

The Lonely Linuxer v2 Log #1: The Next Step Hello everyone! Welcome to the first entry of The Lonely Linuxer v2. A lot has happened since my previous posts, and I feel like this is the right time to start a new chapter. The biggest change has been my chatbot project. What started as Herobot Multilingual has now evolved into Herobot-Llama. Instead of simply improving the old version, I decided to redesign it around a local Llama model. It now supports internet search and has become a much more capable assistant than my earlier chatbot. Building it taught me a lot about Java, AI, local language models, and how different components can work together to create something useful. I also started experimenting with AI in a different way. Recently, I used Google Flow to create YouTube Shorts. It's fascinating to see how AI can help not only with programming but also with creating content. I'm still learning, but I'm excited to explore what I can make next. Of course, game developmen...

The Lonely Linuxer #26 – Rebooting

Hi everyone, I just got back from the mental hospital not long ago after going three days without being able to sleep. It was a difficult experience. I could finally sleep there, but the room was very bare—just a bed and a small window. It wasn't easy, but I made it through. After being discharged, I joined a local game development meetup. Talking with other developers and seeing what they're building gave me a fresh dose of motivation. My next goal is to find work in game development, and I'm planning to start looking for opportunities through IndieDB and other indie game communities. I'm looking forward to getting back to coding, making games, and continuing the projects I've started. I just hope I'll have friendly teammates and colleagues this time around. One step at a time. The system has rebooted. Stay sigma.

The Lonely Linuxer #25 – The Comeback

Hello everyone, After a couple of unexpected system crashes (also known as hospital visits), I'm happy to report that the maintenance is complete and the user is back online. During my downtime, many of my projects were left waiting in the background. Now that I've rebooted, I've been spending time polishing some of my older games, particularly Flappy Commander and Hero Zombotag. A lot of the improvements came from feedback I received on TikTok. Like any good open-source-minded developer, I listened to user reports, fixed bugs, improved gameplay, and pushed a few quality-of-life updates. You can find all of my projects here: https://hubahuba.itch.io/ If you enjoy my work and would like to help keep the servers running (and the developer supplied with coffee), you can now support me through Trakteer as well. Thank you to everyone who continued to support my projects while I was offline. Your feedback, encouragement, and bug reports are always appreciated. The terminal is ope...

The Lonely Linuxer Log #24 – The Rise

Hi guys, I’m back again with a few updates from the terminal. First of all, Eid al-Fitr Mubarak! Sorry I’m a bit late. Lately, I’ve been compiling an HD version of Flappy Commander, patching and polishing TellTheCover, and pushing a few other commits—including writing a README for one of my repositories. On another note, Yuhuu Games is currently looking for investors to help scale future builds and keep the pipeline running strong. I also got hospitalized twice after Eid, but the process didn’t crash. Still up and running. We had a couple of family gatherings as well—Alhamdulillah. Wishing you all a smooth run and zero errors. See you at the top. With sincerity, Stay sigma, Hubaka

A Lonely Linuxer Log #23 - The Return

A Week Offline: Mental Reset, Kernel Panic, and Rebuilding HeroBot Life doesn’t always crash gracefully. Sometimes it kernel panics . Recently, I was hospitalized in a mental health facility for more than a week. No laptop. No coding. No terminal. No debugging. Just me, my thoughts, and time moving slower than a frozen progress bar. At first, it felt like everything stopped. But looking back now, I realize something important: Sometimes the system shuts down so it can protect itself. Forced Offline Mode As developers, we’re used to solving problems with logic. Error? → Debug it. System crash? → Reinstall. Corrupted files? → Restore backup. But the human mind doesn’t work like that. You can’t sudo fix-brain --force. Being hospitalized forced me into what I’d call “ safe mode .” Limited inputs. Limited stress. No distractions. Just stabilization. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t comfortable. But it was necessary. And sometimes necessary things don’t feel good at the time. Meanwhile… My Laptop ...

A Lonely Linuxer Log #22 - GitHub Cleanups & a New Game

Lately, I’ve been spending time polishing my GitHub repositories — mainly by writing proper README files for my published games. Most of them were made with the help of ChatGPT (okay… almost all of them 😄), and honestly, they turned out really slick. It feels good seeing the repos look more alive and presentable instead of just being code dumps. On top of that, I also released a new game called Flappy Commander. It’s a Flappy Bird–style game, but with a twist: you can shoot, and there are enemies to deal with while you fly. Simple idea, but surprisingly fun to work on. For now, I’ll keep experimenting and making more games once I have a stronger grasp of overall game design concepts. One step at a time. That’s all for this log — keeping it short this time. Cheers. Stay sigma. Your support means a lot ❤️ If you like what I do, you can support me here: 🎮 Itch.io: https://hubahuba.itch.io/ ☕ Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/kubohiki
